In this article, we will see what are the events of the route that appear in our progress bar (or timeline) in the Route Analyzer.
In route analysis, there is the route progress bar where you can see some colors. These colored bars are the movements and events performed by the application user captured by Foxtrot Systems.
And what are these events captured by Foxtrot Systems, what do they mean and how to identify them?
-
Blue Bar: Warehouse Event or Start of Route / End of Route
This event is expected to always be at the beginning and end of all routes. Indicates the location where the route was started and ended, usually at the Distribution Center or Support Point.
-
Light Green Bar: Displacement Movement Event
When we detect through our algorithm that the user of the application is driving the vehicle to carry out the visits of the day.
-
Dark Purple Bar: Authorized Stop Event
The user is stopped at a planned point and expected to happen on the route.
-
Light Purple Bar: Unauthorized Stop Event
The user is stopped at an unplanned and unexpected point on the route.
If your operation has recently started with Foxtrot Systems, this unauthorized stop event will be a common and expected event to happen, as we have not yet learned all customer locations and points to be visited, and even if the application user is at one point or ray to be visited, it will not appear as an authorized stop, but as an unauthorized stop.
Another point of observation: This unauthorized stop can be expected due to its operation, as it is an off-route visit, the user's lunch time or even other common and expected events and movements in the middle of a route due to its operation.
-
Red Bar: Data Gap Event (GPS signal capture failure)
This movement can occur for several reasons, such as:
Poor quality of the mobile device used by the user during the execution of the route
-
Bad user behavior on the route, such as:
Turn off the cell phone
Shut down the Foxtrot Systems application or the application that Foxtrot Systems is integrated into
Turn off the GPS
Enable battery saving mode
Pass through regions that do not have a GPS signal (tunnels, underground parking lots, elevators, among others), called shadows
When this event occurs on a route, we will lose the location information in real time from the route user.
-
Yellow Bar: Data Issue Event
GPS data capture problems caused by the user being at a speed above 180km / h. This event will also cause the loss of the user's real-time location information on the route.
-
Black Bar: Phone Off Event
Below the route progress bar a black bar can often appear. Whenever this point appears it will mean that the user has hung up the phone and from that moment on you will lose the visibility of the user's tracking in real time, that is, the real-time monitoring of the user.
-
Grey Bar: Location Services Off Event
Below the progress bar of the route a grey bar can often appear. Whenever this point appears it will mean that the GPS of the user's device is turned off and therefore the location service will also be turned off.
-
White Bar: No Event
These are the data capture problem events. It means that we have not received any data in that period of the route, which is why we have no events. This can be caused by several factors, such as:
Poor quality of the mobile device used by the user during the execution of the route
-
Misbehavior of the user on the route such as:
Turn off the cell phone
Shut down the Foxtrot Systems application or the application that Foxtrot Systems is integrated into
Turn off the Internet or Mobile Data
Lack of signal from the mobile operator in a specific region
The data of clicks made will not be lost, even without an internet signal, as the Foxtrot Systems application is robust offline and will store the information of clicks made on the user's cell phone, until the internet signal comes back and the data stored on the user's cell phone can be sent to the Foxtrot Systems platform.
Important point: when there is this lack of internet on the route, Foxtrot Systems' suggestion will be static for the user, that is, it will be frozen until the connection returns again.
Difference between a Data Gap event and No Event: No Event has no data before or after the first or last data point (if No Event is at the beginning or at the end of the route).
