[NEW USER] How to give access to Foxtrot?

Foxtrot Systems access is managed by the administrator users for your business unit. If you already have administrator access, follow the steps below to invite a new user.

If you need access but are not an administrator, contact a user administrator in your business unit. If you cannot identify an administrator, contact us at servicedesk@descartes.com.


Step by Step on How to Give Access to Foxtrot Systems

This section explains how administrator users can invite new users and grant access to the platform.

  1. Confirm that you have an administrator profile. Only users with this profile can invite new users.

  2. Check whether you have access to the Settings page within ACCOUNT. If you can access that page, you are an administrator.



  3. Open the USERS page from Settings. This page lets you manage new and existing users for each operating environment.



  4. Click INVITE NEW MEMBERS to invite a new user and give them access to the Foxtrot Systems platform.



  5. In the invitation window, enter the new user's full name, email address and phone number.



  6. Select the permissions you want to grant to the new user. Choose only the permissions that apply. For more details, see Foxtrot Systems permissions.



  7. If needed, restrict the user's access by driver group. Foxtrot Systems Web lets you create driver groups to make day-to-day operations easier and improve visibility. For example, you can group drivers by supervisor or vehicle type so a Distribution Center manager or supervisor sees only the relevant group.



  8. Click SEND INVITATIONS to send the invitation. If you see the message There was a data conflict or Email already exists, the user may already have access. For access to other Distribution Centers, contact the Descartes Customer Support.





  9. After you send the invitation, the new user will receive an email with access instructions. Let them know to check their spam folder if the message does not appear in their inbox.

  10. In the invitation email, the user can click SETUP ACCOUNT to open the Foxtrot Systems Web Platform, create a password and start using the platform.
